Show UANARRAVILLE NEWS By Francis Piper The Escalante Valley Lions Club met Friday night. April 12. Kllen Rollo oi Cedar City showed a film on lung cancer. It was a prelude to the cancer drive which will begin April 22. Otto Fife is in charge of the cancer campaign in this area. Election of officers for the Lions Club will take place soon. The PTA work day at Escalante Escal-ante Valley School was well attended. at-tended. Sixteen fathers and men of the valley helped with the cemei.t pouring on the double size tennis court, about one-half of which was completed. The women and children worked on the new lawn. Pot luck dinner was served to all the workers. The Escalante Valley Cub Scouts held their monthly pack meeting April 15 at the Escalante Escal-ante Valley school. The meeting was well attended by families and friends from Newcastle and the Valley. The Indian theme was well carried out In costumes. ! skits and displays. Lion and bear badges, arrow and bobcat pins earned by the boys, were presented pre-sented by Gene Butler, assistant cubmaster. Several Escalante Valley students stu-dents attending Enterprise High School weru cast In the play "Ac cidental Hero," presented by the ' school Friday night, April 12. Jack Moyle, Jr. played the leading lead-ing role, with iXicille Hunt. Carol Crum, Lula Pittard also In the cast. Rose Ann Moyle was in charge of the make-up. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moyle, Mary Moyle and Selma Godard attended attend-ed the play "Accidental Hero." presented by the Enterprise High school. Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Biaso and son Gary, attended the Aaronic Priesthood banquet at Newcastle Saturday night. Individual awards were received by Bary Biasl. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyle are California bound to spend a few days with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morris and granddaughter Lynn, at Southgate. Mrs. Juliette Adams Holt passed pass-ed away Saturday. April 13, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Moyle. Mrs. Evelyn Wilcox of Salt Lake, mother of Mrs. Ray Hunt, suffered Injury in a fall while visiting in St. George. She Is In the hospital there. Mrs. Hunt is In St George to be with her mother mo-ther George Geftakas of Whittier, Calif., spent the veek end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. Mr. and Mrs Elvin Stowell an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Eileen, to Nyal Boss-hardt, Boss-hardt, son of Mr and Mrs. John Bosshardt. Otto Fife is the new manager of the Escalante Valley Growers Association. Carl Holland is home for t short stay with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Holland. |
