Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWINGl Easter has been setting the scene the the social activities in Cedar this past week. The Klwanl-Anns enjoyed an t evening of entertainment and a delicious dinner at the Airport Cafe last Wednesday. The tab. le decorations followed the East-er East-er motif with each guest receiving receiv-ing an Easter nut basket as a favor. A floor show with Flrlon Webster acting as master of ceremonies cer-emonies was presented through dance, song and verse by the following College of So. Utah students: Martha Fakler, Marva Carter, Jerry Smith, Diane Coo-ley, Coo-ley, Nellcne Parry, Shirley Graff, David Williams, Sheldon Prest-wlch, Prest-wlch, Wendel Heaton and Jim Naegle. A Combo comprised of Layne Nielson, Lane Merrywea-ther, Merrywea-ther, Gloria Dotson and Randy Eubank offered after dinner music. mu-sic. ResDonsible for this lovelv af. fair were Mary Stratton, chairman; chair-man; Alice Milne and Pat Lowe. The En Avante Club celebrated its annual birthday Wednesday evening at a novel pot luck party r'ww". 111 "i"'ti. held at the home of Alice Braith-! waite. The rooms and tables! I were decorated toward the Easter Eas-ter theme. The group enjoyed playing Monte Carlo whist dur-ing dur-ing the evening. Chairman for the event was Vivian Palmer with Alice Brlathwttite, Claudia Forsyth, and LaVeve Whetlen forming the committee. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Jacobs had , as their guest the past week end ,Mrs Rene Miles of St. George. ! During her stay she enjoyed the fashion show and the UTA fam-1 fam-1 ily night with her daughter Mrs. I Jacobs and the family. I The Faculty Ladies Club entertained en-tertained the Associated Women Students at the college Thursday evening. Special guest speaker for the evening was Professor iTheda Johnson, extension cloth ing specialist from Utah State University. 'The Well Dressed Woman" with special emphasis ! on accessories was the topic for the evening. Light refreshments were served by Emma Nielson i and her committee consisting of Zoe Palmer, Florence Matthews, Mary McMillan, Eleene Osborne and Ella Leigh. The Email-fry entered Into the social picture Tuesday morning when the students of LaVand Bauer enjoyed breakfast together. togeth-er. Room mothers, Clara Wahl-quist Wahl-quist and Fern Leigh prepared and served juico, scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, Jam and milk to 29 students, Clayton Olds, training teacher and Mr. Bauer. The scene of the event was the West Elementary cafeteria. This activity culminated the class study on diet. Lt. Barry Haight recently arrived ar-rived in Cedar City from Denver, Colo., where he has been stationed. sta-tioned. He has been visiting with his father. Herbert Haight, prior to his marriage this week end to Elma Ann McArthur of St. r.eorpe. Durine the week the couple have enjoyed meeting old friends and visiting at the home of the future bride's brother. Therol McArthur. Following the wedding the newlyweds will leave for Thoenix where Lt. Haight will be stauoned. Grace Heap entertained her bridge club Monday evening. After Af-ter light refreshments, bridge was played with prizes going to Betty Randall, Elva Yergenson. Dorothy Urie and Harriet Burgess. Bur-gess. ' A miscellaneous shower was held for Karen Froyd Parkinson at the home of Barbara Ashman. Games were plaved and an original orig-inal paper wedding gown was made by the guests and present-led present-led to the bride. Friday morning a group of friends and neighbors surprised Reta Anderson with a birthday cake and gift in honor of her birthday which was last Satur- ' day. Orion Is attending the Brigham Young University. While home he enjoyed the military ball. Cedar City visitors have been Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Dobson of Provo They were guests at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Evan Dob-son. Dob-son. They spent the week end becoming be-coming acquainted with their new grandson, RonaUJ Evan. From Salt Lake City came Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Stauffer and daughter to spend the week end with the Walter Lowes. Mrs. Stauffer Is the sister of Mrs. Lowe. The Sophomores at the College of Southern Utah are anticipating anticipat-ing with enthusiasm their graduation grad-uation but they are also regretting regret-ting the fact that many friends will be separated In the various fields of endeavor which they may choose. Therefow, Thursday, evening the class held a Last Chance banquet and dance so that they might all enjoy each other before the ending of school. The aTfair was held at the Air-prt Air-prt Cafe.
