Show High School Coach Announces Decision to Transfer Coach Dick Jones of the Paro-owan Paro-owan High School gave out the information on Monday morning of this week that he will not be coming back to this school next year but will move to the Millard Mil-lard High School at Fillmore, thus upholding the tradition that apparently two years is the tenure of a coach at the local institution. Coach Jones has turned in an exceptionally fine job at the Parowan Par-owan school, both as coach and as a leader of boys and his leaving leav-ing will be a distinct loss to the school. He gives the following reasons for leaving and going to the Millard county school: The advantage of a larger school where he will be relieved of some of the duties he has had here. At Millard he will coach basketball and help Coach Taft Watts with soring athletics and be relieved of football coaching. The Millard job pays more money than he is now petting, and incidentally in-cidentally he will be breaking In a beautiful new modern j;ym-nasium j;ym-nasium this fall. Coach Jones Parowan basket-" ball teams have taken the division divi-sion and region championships here for the past two years. The Millard school finished at the bottom of the column in this sport this year with the worst year in history and should be on the up grade next year. Mr. and Mrs. Jones intend to leave Parowan as soon as school lets out and go to Spanish Fork for the summer and then move" i back to Fillmore for the open-jlng open-jlng of school In September. |
