Show Final Rites Accorded Lula lane Mathis Funeral services were held in the New Harmony Ward Chapel Thursday, Dec. 2 for Lula Jane Whipple Mathis, who died Nov. 28 at the Cooper Rest Home in St. George. Services were conducted by Bishop Dean Hall. Speakers at the services were Bishop Lyle B. Prince, Viola Kelsey and Reid Whipple, with remarks by Bishop Hall. Special musical selections included in-cluded a vocal group composed of Zelda Smith, Shirley Stratton, Ol-ga Ol-ga Manning, Nellie Flanigan and Ada Palmer, singing "Sometime We'll Understand", who were accompanied by Margaret Webster; Web-ster; a cello solo by Carol Ann Jones; a vocal sole, "The End of a Perfect Day," by Evan Cooper, accompanied by Francis Bucey. Prelude and postlude music was by Ada Palmer. Invocation was by Wm. D. Whipple, the benediction by Orson Or-son Hammond and the dedication of the grave at the New Harmony cemetery was by Ruben Whipple. |
