Show H. P. Linder Named To Head Capitol Reef Harry P. Linder, superindent of Tuzigoot National Monument, Arizona, has been appointed sup. erintendent of Capitol Reef National Na-tional Monunment, Utah, Daniel B. Beard, director of the Southwest South-west Region of the National Park Service, announced today at his office in Santa Fe, New Mexico. At Capitol Reef, Linder will succeed William T. Kreuger, Whose transfer to the superin-tendncy superin-tendncy of Golden Spike National Nation-al Historic Site was announced recently. Kreuger will be the first superintendent of Golden Spike. Linder, a native of Taylor, Mis-sippi, Mis-sippi, has had wide experience in the administration of many units of the National Park System in the Southwest. He began his career car-eer with the National Park Service Ser-vice at Southwestern National Coolidge, Arizona, in 1910, where he served for two years. His assignments as-signments included tours of duty at the National Park Service's regional re-gional office in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Big Bend National Park, Texas; Carlsbad Caverns National Nation-al Park, New Mexico; Petrified Forest National Monument (now National Park), Arizona; Piatt National Park, Oklahoma; Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado; a second assignment at Carlsbad Caverns National Park; and, beginning be-ginning in 1962, Tuzigoot Nation-al Nation-al Monument, his present assignment. assign-ment. Linder will assume his duties as superintendent of Capitol Reef National Monument on January 2, 1966. |
