I Chamberlain will succeed Am-asa Am-asa Stones as chairman and Glen Halterman of Parowen was elected elect-ed to serve as vice president. The officers will assume their duties du-ties on the board at the regular board meeting at the begining of the new year. Superintendent Joe Reldhead reported to the board on the problems confronting the reception recep-tion of Educational TV Channel 7 in the area. A formal resolution was passed pas-sed by the board approving application ap-plication for federal funds under Title I of the Elementary School Act. Preparations have been made for two schools in the district dis-trict to participate. Authorized to participate were Superintendent Superinten-dent Reidhead; Max Dalley, cir-riculum cir-riculum coordinator and the principals of the secondary schools in the district. The excursion ex-cursion was made Tuesday. Authorization for the purchase of band uniforms for Pa rowan High School was given following a request by a delegation representing repre-senting the band to the board. Specifications for the uniforms will be formulated and a call for bids will be issued in the near future. Bids were opened at the meeting meet-ing on a new school bus. Thorley Ford, Inc. was the aparent com-! com-! bined low bidder supplying a unit with a Ford Chassis and a Blue Bird body. Bids were also opened for the supplying of potatoes po-tatoes to the district for use in the school lunch program. Low bidder was Bill Limb with a bid of $3.44 per hundred weight in ton lots on Number 1 potatoes. Car and pickup were offered for sale by the district. No bids were received on the car and the Superintendent was authorized to negoiate its sale. The pickup j was sold. Don Applegate was ap- I parent high bidder. |
