Show Deadline for Mailing Holiday Items Marked by Postmaster It is urgent that any remaining remain-ing Christmas mail be sent out over the week end. Postmaster Frank Petty stressed today. In the last three weeks, the nation has witnessed more people peo-ple mailing gifts, cards and letters let-ters than ever before. The Postmaster said that across the nation every piece of Christmas mail that can possibly possib-ly be delivered will reach its destination on time. However, at this time of the year, the strain on transportation facilities and the unpredictability of weather can mean unexpected delays. I Petty suggested that mailers I consider the use of air mail and 'special delivery, especially for out of town mail. He noted that holiday schedules sche-dules will be in effect on Saturday Satur-day and Sunday, December 25 and 26. Although Christmas 1 falls on a Saturday and many j business firms will be letting their employees off Friday, a sufficient number of postal workers work-ers will remain on duty to see that all Christmas mail entering enter-ing post offices in time for delivery de-livery will reach its destination. Only Special Delivery and perishable per-ishable mail will be delivered on Christmas clay. The Cedar City Postmaster i thanked all his customers for their excellent cooperation so far. |
