Show Visitors at Bryce Increase 48 in November Travel to Bryce National Park during November exceeded that of any othej November on re-xrd, re-xrd, Superintendent Louis W. Hallock annouced. The total number of visitors coming into the park during the month was 3.796. This was an amazing 48 increase over travel recorded for November, 1959. Good weather for much of the month and an Increasing number num-ber of older people or people traveling tra-veling without school age chllJ dren had a great deal to do with November's higher travel, Superintendent Sup-erintendent Hallock said. Also contributing were the large numbers of out of state hunters who took time out from the hunt to see the park. Another factoi was the large number of people traveling over the Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing holiday. As of Nov. 30, travel to Bryce Canyon during 1960 stood at 269.587 visitors. On this date in 1959. the greatest travel year in the park's history, 276.565 visitors visit-ors had entered Bryce. Although travel Is still 2.5 behind last year at this time, 1960 will be the park's second largest travel year. Superintendent Hallock took this opportunity to remind readers read-ers that the park stays open the year around. During the winter months roads leading to the four lowe.r view points are plowed by park crews after each storm. A ranker is on duty in the Visitor Center from 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. every day of the year. |
