Show THE BUSY SKIES For all of their efforts, the men who operate at the high level of state have been able to do little to allev-" allev-" iate the world's ills. Angers, jealousies and dissensions have, if anything, increased. Instead of solving problems, the world leaders have had to come to grips with a whole ; nuge of new ones, some of staggering complexity. The hope of peoples everywhere is that this will some- how alter that a miracle will flash across the international interna-tional skies and clear the murky air. But only the most incurable in-curable optimist would bet on that. The solution to these problems may lie within the power of the people, rather than in that of few leaders in what is known as the people-to-people approach. And It is certainly true that when people of the nations meet, talk, fraternize and begin to get a better understanding of the faiths, beliefs and aspirations of others, the cause of friendship, which is basically the cause of peace, is ad-anced ad-anced another step.. We now live in a world in which the people-to-peo- pie movement has every physical facility for growth at its disposal at speeds and with comforts that would have seemed fantastic a few years ago. It is a matter of record that the numbers of people traveling for reasons of business or pleasure or education between their lands and foreign lands is growing at an accelerating pace. The hope for improved world understanding and a relief of tensions, may br, so to speak, in the busy skies. |
