Show NEWS FROM THE ESCALAUTE VALLEY Mrs. Georgia MoyU The July meeting of the Esca-lante Esca-lante Valley Ladies Cub was held Thursday evening, July 19, in Modena at the home of Mrs. Horace Phelps. The meeting was conducted by Vice President Pat Moyle. A discussion was held on membership, after which the 4th of July report was given by Dorothy Gardner. Olene Smith reported on the quilt that is now on at the community building. Those wishing to help may report re-port there or to Mrs. Smith. Club meeting for August was discussed and also the annual cub night at Veyo which was set up tor August 9th. The door prize was won by Fat Moyle. Time was turned to hostess Marie Phelps for games and refreshments. Prizes were won by Miriam Mc-Gary, Mc-Gary, Dorothy Gardner, Mary Moyle and Edith Force. Mrs. Ethyl Lund of Cedar City, who is spending a few days at Modena after just returning from the SeatUe world's Fair, was a special guest at club. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Phelps will leave this week end for an extended trip to the World's Fair and visiting with Horace's folks. Jack Godard is home from Corcoran, Cor-coran, California, where he has been teaching for the past two years. He will leave for Provo sometime this week, where he will visit with his brother Jerry and family before they leave for Phoenix. 4 Pat and Jack Moyle and two children Lore and Elliott have gone to Salt Lake City and Bountiful Boun-tiful on business and to spend the 24th with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Aus tin returned by way of the Redwood Red-wood Highway and Yosemlte Park from a trip to the World Fair at Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Firsteen Lane and three children, Elizabeth, Becky and Brenda of El Sobrante, Calif., spent some time visiting with the Lanes and Kerseys. Mr. and Mrs. El win Lane spent a week In Salt Lake City before going to California where Mr. Lane will work. Mrs. Nelma Kersey has gone to-the to-the Sierra Girls Camp where she will spend about two weeks. Mrs. Kersey was requested by the Oakland-Berkley-Walnut Creek MIA Stake to attend this camp. She has been a native counselor and this will be her eighth year with the group. She recently finished camp at Pine Valley with the North Las Vegas Stake. |
