Show NEWS NOTES FROM SUMMIT I By Donna Davenport In Sacrament meeting Sunday our ward members listened to life sketches of four of our early settlers. Oscar J. Hulet told about his grandfather Sylvanug C. Hulet; Hu-let; Mrs. Zola Dalley talked about her husband's grandfather, James Dalley; Mrs. Anna Dalley told about her husband's grandfather grandfath-er William Dalley, and Alice Walker gave a sketch on her grandfather, Obadiah Farrow. . The 24th of July was celebrated celebrat-ed here- with festivities beginning begin-ning at 3 p. m. with sports and concluding in the evening with a potluck supper and program. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farrow traveled tra-veled to Salt Lake City last week for an overnight stay with their daughter, Mrs. Conley Adams and family and to bring their daughter, daugh-ter, Shirley, home after a two weeks' stay at the Adams home. Mrs. Adams and three children came back with her parents for a week's visit here. Mrs. Darlene Ledkin, a former resident, and her sister, both of Midvale, have been visiting here for several days with friends. Michael Stapley and David Dalley traveled by plane last Week to Salt Lake City for a few days' stay. They were guests of Mrs. Elden Nielsen and family of Murray, taking the plane on Sunday afternoon for the return trip home. Mr. and Mrs. Dee El Stapley and three children left last Tuesday Tues-day for Logan where they will spend six weeks while Mr. Stapley Stap-ley attends school at USU. Miss Pat Humpherys of Salt Lake City has been home for a visit with her family, the Hy-rum Hy-rum L Humpherys. Mrs. Clark C. Johnson returned home last week after spending six weeks visiting with friends and relatives in Iowa, South Dakota Da-kota and Minnesota. The teen-age boys and elr'a from here met at the home of the Dick Farrows last Wednesday Wednes-day evening for a party. The White family got together Saturday evening for a cook-out at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Al Matheson. Families attending were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert D. White and daughter Jeanne, the Dee Whites and Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Morton and daughter Yverte. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Davenport and daughter Sheral visited in Paragonah Saturday evening with Mr. Davenport's sister, Mrs. Boyd Robinson, and family. |
