Billy Harrison was honv from :HcBdeTson, Nev., last week to vivit his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Al-Uhftt Al-Uhftt Harrison. Mr. and Mrs. Rog-r Rog-r (Lydia) Morton and tiny daughter of Summit visited at the Harrison home over the week nd. It has been 4-H camp time again and most or trie eligible -aj;ed oungsters In town have participated this year. Mrs. Re-Voe Re-Voe Hulet and Mrs. Fern Reeve went as leaders with the younger young-er group, and Mrs. Harriet Jones -and Mrs. Marlon Woolsey went vith the older group. Scott Tullis informed me that '1 took him to Salt Lake a while !oack and forgot to bring him !back, and a lot of people were surprised to see him. Ml try to do better from now on and be asure find bring my people back from 'their trips. Mrs. Norma Thomas and children chil-dren of Enterprise visited at the Thome of Mrs. Cassle Christensen tthls nveek. Also visiting at the "Chrisrensen home was Mrs. Ethel Xund of Cedar City and Modena. Bob Piatt is In northern Utah now visiting at the home of his Janghter and her family, Mr. land Mrs. Miles (Delia) Hunt of jPfpssant Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Chamberlain Chamber-lain and, doughter Carol of Salt Iake City were week end visitors visit-ors at the Jiome of Mr. and Mrs. Uriah Jones. Mr. Chamberlain is a brother to Harriet. 'STe Enterprise American Leg-Ion Leg-Ion presented Its annual July 24 rodeo last Friday and Saturday nights. Almost evenyone in town took in the show either one or lwjh rights. Saturday night the Escalante "Valley Lions Club sponsored a dance In the Valley Community IHal. Herb Knell orchestra furnished fur-nished the music. A good group from Newcastle attended and had an enjoyable time. In Sacrament meeting Sunday, t he "ward honored the older mem- bers. The program consisted of either the children or the grandchildren grand-children of these members teill-ing teill-ing something of their lives, history, his-tory, songs, and musical numbers. num-bers. Those so honored were Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hulet, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hart, Rob Piatt,. Mrs. Geneva Gillies, Mrs. Cassle Christensen and Mrs. Effie Boa-cham. Boa-cham. Elder Jack Tullis was the speaker in Sacrament meeting in Pioche, Nev., Sunday. His folks, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Tullis, drove out with him and visited with friends after meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hulet land family visited in Mcsqulte, ' Nev., last week with Nita Rae's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Re-ber. Re-ber. Nita Rae and the children remained there to visit for a few days. Week end visitors at the home of Mrs. Geneva Gillies was her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gillies of Las Vegas, Nev. Sunday Sun-day visitors at the Gillies home were Mr. and Mrs. Kumen (Nai-da) (Nai-da) Gardner and sons Eric and Paul, and daughter, Mrs. Sheila Shrum, all of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Tullis and family of Clearfield, were visitors visit-ors over the week end in Newcastle New-castle and Enterprise. They visited vis-ited at the homes of Sterling and Scott Tullis and Mrs. Mary Tullis. Tul-lis. NEWCASTLE 4-H CLUB NEWS Vldon Sorensen. Reporter The Exterminator Club has spent two very busy weeks. The first one consisted of practices, and preparations for the annual 4-H Club camp at Duck Creek. Club camp was held Monday and Tuesday of last week. All members attended and had an enjoyable time. They all participated parti-cipated in sports, hikes and handicrafts. han-dicrafts. The highlight of the club camp was when our club met with Dr. Knowlton, the state entomologist. He told the members mem-bers about many interesting Insects, In-sects, their names, how and where they live, what they eat, and how they are helpful or harmful. All members returned home tired, dirty and happy and our thanks to to our leader Rem Reeve and to County Agent Wallace Wal-lace SJoblom for helping us have a wonderful time. |
