Show City Urges Support Of Property Oiling Assessment City Manager Thomas Thorsen states that only about one-fourth of the property owners in Cedar City have paid their special improvement im-provement assessments on the city-wide street oiling program, and indicates that unless a substantially sub-stantially larger number make payments within the next few days It will become necessary for the city to issue bonds to finance the program. If it become necessary to issue is-sue bonds, Mr. Thorsen says, the expense will be considerably increased in-creased and each property owner will be faced with considerable inconvenience in making yearly payments in addition to paying additional interest charges. Since each assessment is small the city officials are hoping that property owners will pay up the assessments in full rather than j forcing a bond financing pro-gram. |
