Show Rotary Clothing Drive Attains 640 Pounds for Refugees The Rotary club of Cedar City In cooperation with Rotary International Inter-national and the International Refugee Rescue committee shipped ship-ped 640 pounds of usable clothing cloth-ing to West Germany yesterday, according to Myron Higbee, committee com-mittee chairman In charge of the clothing drive. Actually 14 pasteboard cartons of clothing and four barrels of shoes, all In good repair left Cedar City headed for West Germany Ger-many where, the clothing " ," be used fr refugees escaping from behind the Iron Curtail into free Germany. The local Rotary club under the direction of Mr. Higbee stimulated stim-ulated the drive within the organization or-ganization and contributed the clothing under the International program. Assisting Mr. Higbee in the clothing drive was a committee commit-tee consisting of L. Robert Gardner Gard-ner and Jack Todd. According to the plan of the drive, the clothing snipped from Cedar City will arrive in Germany Ger-many sometime in May at which time it will be immediately distributed dis-tributed to the needy people of that country. |
