Show Home Ec Convention To Be Attended by Branch College Club Miss Lanice Moore, home economics eco-nomics instructor at Branch Agricultural Ag-ricultural college has been conferring con-ferring with Miss Mary Harris, president of B A C Home Economics Econo-mics College club and making plans to attend the Utah State Home Economics association convention. con-vention. Members and college club girls throughout the state will participate in the meetings to be held May 1 and 2 at Hotel Utah, Salt Lake City. One of the highlights of the convention will be the many exhibits ex-hibits of manufacturers, distributors distrib-utors and retailers in Utah. The exhibitors aim to show the home economists how their products will aid them in their various professions and home living. Howntree, director of the school rf home economics at the University of Washington, Seattle, will be the guest speaker speak-er Friday evening. Dr. Howntree Is well known in home economics, econo-mics, having published several books in that field. She will speak on "Home Economics Today". To-day". Saturday's agenda will begin with a breakfast meeting at which time the newly elected officers will be announced. Special Spe-cial speaker of the morning will be Don Lyman, sales manager of Walter B. Lloyd company. Mr. Lyman, who conducts salesmanship salesman-ship and leadership training courses, will discuss the vital topic to-pic of "Improving Yourselves". A fashion show modeling new styles for 1953 will also be featured fea-tured and the program will be concluded by a drawing for gifts donated by the Untah Manufacturers Manufac-turers Association. |
