Show I Redmen Fall Behind in Baseball League The Cedar City high school! baseball team lost two games this week, dropping a one-sided battle to Hurricane on the local diamond Monday afternoon, and losing to Enterprise at Enterprise Enter-prise Wednesday afternoon. The Hurricane Tigers dumped the Redmen by a score of 17 to 9, in a loosely played seven inning game, and Enterprise won by a margin of 7 to 2. In the game Monday the Cedar players collected seven hits to eight for the visitors, but walks and errors ran up the Hurricane score. The Redmen committed 16 errors In the game, and 10 Hurricane Hurri-cane players were Issued free passes to keep the bases loaded. Hurricane almost matched the Redmen play in the field with 13 errors, but only one walk was received by Cedar. In the Enterprise game errors were again costly to the Redmen, since they committed seven to four for Enterprise, however, Hall the Enterprise chucker struck out 17 men and did not issue a walk. The Cedar pitchers, Leroy Nelson and Lee Carpenter, struck out nine Enterprise batters, and al-lowed al-lowed only one walk. |
