NEWCASTLE Several of our townspeople attended at-tended the pageant Saturday night and Stake Conference Sunday Sun-day in Cedar City. Herbert Knell of Washington spent a short while Sunday visiting vis-iting his daughter Mrs. Ruth Ward and family. Mrs. Clarissa Piatt of Richfield, widow of Joseph Piatt, recently spent a few days visiting here with her sister, Mrs. Robert Piatt and family. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hastings and family of Hurricane spent Saturday here on business and visited at the home of their uncle R. M. Gillies. Mrs. Iva Harrison recently returned re-turned from a trip to Ogden where she went with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ashby Pace of New Harmony, to visit her grandmother, Mrs. Susan Pace, who has been in poor health for several months. Some farmers here have been compelled to abandon their farms for this season on account of the water shortage, and are seeking employment elsewhere.
