Show ParowanRams Win From Cedar, Panguitch The Parowan high school basketball bas-ketball team finished its pre-sea-son practice game schedule on Wednesday night with a win over a tough Panguitch high team on the local floor, taking the see-saw game by a 46 to 40 score. On Tuesday night the Rams won from the Cedar high Red- men by a 53 to 43 score in a game played on the C S U field-house field-house floor, for their second win over the Redmen this year. Coach Bruce Decker used every man on the squad in the Panguitch Pan-guitch game, with a starting lineup consisting of Eric Clark, Melvin Hyatt, Kent Benson, Lyle Mortensen and Rodney Bent ley playing almost the entire first half, with Melvin Orton and Larry Lar-ry King seeing action in the second sec-ond period. Several of these men were getting their first taste of action and all turned in good performances. The visitors took an early lead only to see it vanish as the Rams went ahead 9 to 7 as the first quarter ended. Panguitch went ahead as the second quarter quar-ter opened and increased its lead to 22 to 15 at half time. When the second half opened Coach Decker sent in most of his regulars and they soon erased the visitors lead and went into a 28-all tie at the end of the third period, and forged ahead to win by a 46 to 40 score. ' The Rams finished the practice prac-tice season with five wins and three losses, and nov must wait until Jan 15 for their opening game of play in the Millard division di-vision of Region Six. Parowan has a bye in the opening round of play on Jan. 8 at which time Beaver plays Millard at Fillmore and Delta plays Milford at the latter place. Parowan's opening game is with Milfoid on the Parowan floor. |
