Show Teen-agers Set Forth Resolutions For Traffic Laws, Driver Training Last Wednesday, Dec. 23 at Hotel Ho-tel El Escalante in Cedar City approximately 250 teen-agers and interested citizens participated in the first Utah Teen-age Traffic Safety conference. Sponsorship of the confab was by civic groups and particularly the Columbia Iron Mining Co., and the Cedar City Safety Council. In the evening session of the meeting, following an afternoon closed session by the teen-agers, resolutions adopted by the younger set were presented fnm the five sections of discussion. Also during the afternoon session parents and citizens were urged to help the teen agers carry on their program by onsidering, and where possible, following through with the teen-age resolutions. reso-lutions. Bill Baker, Washington County chairman for the Region Six conference con-ference was elected general chairman of the affair. Sharon Clark, Cedar City chairman, had been acting in that capacity during dur-ing the preparatory stages of the affair. The five closed sessions of afternoon included Traffic Laws, Law Enforcement, Driving Attitude, Atti-tude, Training Drivers, and Club Organization. In the banquet session during the evening resolutions from these sessions were presented with i firm conviction that the conference had been a complete success. Resolutions presented by the newly elected chairman at the banquet session were in part as follows: i Traffic Laws: It was resolved that all "Granddaddy" driver licenses li-censes should be revoked at a certain date and a policy of requiring re-quiring driver tests every five years adopted. It was also revealed re-vealed that traffic violations should be given uniform traffic fines regardless of the existing situations. Driver Training: It was resolved re-solved that a driver training program should be available to all students within Region Six and that driver training program should be carried out throughout I the summer months as well as during me regular scnooi sessions. ses-sions. Traffic Attitude: It was resolved re-solved by the teen-agers that clubs adopt "Dad-Daughter" and "Dad-Sons" agreements for the purpose of driver training.
