Show Art Patrons Invited To View Prominent Display Throughout the month of January, Jan-uary, 1954 art patrons and fans of Cedar City and southern Utah have been invited by the Cedar City East Elementary school to view a contemporary painting and sculpture exhibit that will be hanging at that school during dur-ing the month. Thomas Abplanalp, principal of the school, announced last week that the exhibit, brought to the school by the department of fine arts permanent collection of the International Business Machines Ma-chines Corporation, Is so outstanding out-standing that the public has been invited to view it. The exhibit was brought into the school for the purpose of teaching art appreciation ap-preciation to the students of the East Eelementary. The exhibit will remain at the school until Jan. 30 and patrons are encouraged to view the exhibit ex-hibit which features some of America's outstanding painters and sculptors. Paintings, 32 in all, are hanging hang-ing in the hallway of the school while the 16 sculptures are on display in the school's library. The paintings may be viewed at any time Mr. Abplanalp stated; however, arrangements to view the sculptures must be made up until 3:30 p. m. each day as the library Is In constant use as a class room. After 3:30 p. m. each day patrons will be free to core and go as they please |
