Show Cedar City Matron Dies After Brief Heart Ailment Funeral services will be held in the First-Fifth Ward chapel at 2 p m. Sunday for Mrs. Sarah Alice Holland Middleton, 76, who died early Wednesday morning of a heart ailment. Mrs. Middle-ton, Middle-ton, widow of F. W. Dick" Middleton, Mid-dleton, was stricken Sunday while enjoying a family dinner at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Winterrose. She was rushed to the hospital and seemed to be improving early in the week, but succumbed Wednesday morning. She was born at Hamilton's Fort on July 14, 1877, a daughter of William and Emma Goodfel-low Goodfel-low Holland, pioneers to Iron County. She married Francis W. Middleton in Cedar City on Sept. 29, 1896. Mr. Middleton died in August, 1944. Eleven children were born to them, nine of whom survive her: John H. Middleton and Mrs. R. E. (Jennie) Winterrose, Cedar City; Max Middleton, Whittier, Calif.; Rex Middleton, San Francisco, Calif.; James L. M.; Mrs. Frank (Melba) Wagner, Newman Calif.; Mrs. Afton (Emma) Bohn, Ely, Nev. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, grand-children, six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Louise Holland, Cedar City. Friends may call at the Southern South-ern Utah Mortuary from 4 to 8 p. m. Saturday, and from 10 a. m. until time for the services Sunday. Sun-day. Mrs. Middleton was a member of the L D S church and was particularly active in the Relief Society for many years. |
