Show Enoch Residents Will Observe Golden Wedding Date (Editor's Note: The following .story and accompanying picture are reprints of last week's edition. Because of two typographical er rors in dates, the corrected stories stor-ies are being published so that friends of Mr. and Mrs. Matheson Mathe-son might honor them Saturday night ). Members of the immediate family of Mr. and Mrs. 'Owen Matheson of Enoch will honor their parents at an open house j on Saturday, Nov. 27 at a celebration cele-bration on their golden wedding anniversary. The 50 year event of open house will be held at the Enoch i Ward Relief Society rooms between be-tween the hours of 7 and 10 p. m. The honored couple have asked ask-ed their many friends not to bring gifts. An invitation for all friends and relatives of the lifelong residents res-idents of Iron County has been extended by the family. Mr. Matheson, a retired farmer farm-er and livestock man, has spent most of his life in that industry in Iron County. Only for a short time did he work for the Utah Parks Company. The rest of his life has been spent tilling the soil and raising livestock. He has also been active in the L D S Church, having been a member of the bishopric of the Enoch Ward at one time and is it present pres-ent a member of the High Priests quorum of the Parowan Stake. Mrs. Matheson has also been :an active church worker. She has served as president of the Relief Society, secretary of the Primary and secretary of the M I A at various times. More recently she has bcc:i visiting teacher topic director for the Relief Society. The couple were married in the St. George Temple on Nov. 2!). 1901. They have 10 children, most of whom are living in Iron County- The family consists of the following: fol-lowing: Erancis W. Matheson, Firth, Idaho; Mrs. Olive Maxwell, Cedar City; Evan Matheson, Enoch; Mrs. Grace Holyoak, Parowan; Par-owan; Bernard Matheson, Layton, Utah; Mrs. Amelia Day, Cedar City; Mrs. Alice Halterman, American Am-erican Fork; LaMar Matheson,, Enoch; Mrs. Lavinna Adams, Parowan, and Ivan Matheson, Enoch. Mr. Matheson was born Sept. 21, 1882, at Parowan, and Mrs. Matheson (Sarah Webster), was born at Cedar City April 11, 1883. |
