Decker Oversees j Workout Of Hoop Hopefuls j Hrure Decker, basketball coach 'j at the Parowan high school, has j been working with 20 prospective basketball squad members this week to look over the boys as prospects for this year's edition 1 of a basketball team to carry ! the school's colors in the coming 1 Millard Division basketball race, j Decker will work with this croup of boys this week and j will then cut the squad to 1") j for next week and then the squad will eventually be cut to 12 men. The squad this week consists of I.arry King, Donald Stubbs, Eric Clark, Melvin Orton. Rodney Hentley and Lyle Mortensen, back from last year's division championship team; and Kent, Whitney, Donald Halterman, Donald Gurr, Scottv Havcock, Council Mitchell, Honald Morten-sen. Morten-sen. Tebbs Adams, Jimmie Burl, Carlyle Rollins. Stewart Adams, Orland Halterman., Roger Skou-Rard. Skou-Rard. John Simkins and Billy Evans. First Encounter The first practice game for the year for the Rams will be on Wednesday, Dec. 1 when the Pan-guitch Pan-guitch team comes here. Two more games will be played that week end, with Piute County High here on Friday night and Richfield High School here on Saturday night. The next week end, Dec. 10 and I 11. the Parowan and Cedar teams take on two of the northern i powers, Jordan and Springvill Friday in the C S U fieldhouse and Saturday in the local gym. On Dec. 17 and IS Parowan an 1 j Beaver take on Dixie and Panaca high teams in games Friday night at Parowan and Saturday night I at lie iver. Dec. 2,'j Cedar comes ) here, on Dec. 21). the Rams go to Tropic to try that school's j new gym, and on Dec. 30 go to 1 Cedar. Millard Division play starts on I Jan. 7 but the Rams have a bye that week and will play Vall"y High of Orderville, a game to b" played here on Jan. ." and on the second bye week for the Parowan team. Coach Decker has agreed to go to Richfield for a return game on Feb. 11. |
