Show Chamber Accepts Plan To Study CSU Director Nominees At the regular noon luncheon of the Cedar City Chamber of Ccmrnerce a proposal, presented by Kumen L. Jones, was adopted by the board to conduct a study of the selection of a director to succeed Dr. Daryl Chase. The board agreed to conduct a study of the men nominated for the position after the screening has taken place next week. And iafiT that study has been com-'p'.cted com-'p'.cted the board will make rec-j rec-j onimendations or comments to j the Utah State Hoard of Trustees ! through representative Charles R. j Hunter. ! Also at the meeting a discus-j discus-j si'in was conducted with repre- sontatives of the Retail Mer-i Mer-i chanU committee in attendance, on a proposed Retail Merchants I contribution fund, proposed by that committee. Businesses of the community would pay into the fund their total to-tal contributions for the entire year and the funds would be distributed dis-tributed to the charitable organizations organ-izations and institutions through this proposed organization as requested re-quested by the individual Merchants. Mer-chants. Forrest Hunter, chairman of the Retail Merchants committee, piesented the proposal with the suscestion that the local chamber cham-ber office be used as a headquarters headquar-ters No action was taken by the board. All action was tabled for ! the piesent time, i Approval for an expenditure of j $125 for a cooperative advertise-i advertise-i ment in the Christmas edition of 5 the Salt Lake Tribune was made.
