Show Roger Vandenberghe Chosen H. S. TCr. Touchdown' Roger Vandenberghe, outstanding outstand-ing lineman of the Cedar City High School Redmen football team, selected by the pep club j members, the Suah-a-Kanne club, as "Mr. Touchdown," reigned over the annual football dance Wednesday night with Miss Vic-ki Vic-ki Taylor, selected as "Football Queen." Each year the members of the girls pep club at the Redmen school name a "Mr. Touchdown" while the members of the football foot-ball squad select a football queen. Activities began Tuesday evening eve-ning when the Suah-a -Kanncs honored the members of the foot -1 ball squad at a banquet at El Esoalanle Hotel. Present at the banquet in addition to the team and club members were Supt. and Mrs. Ianthus Wright. Principal Prin-cipal and Mrs. Pratt M. Bethers, Coach and Mrs. Glen Jackson and Coach and Mrs. Ray Englestead. At the banquet each member of the team was given a salute by a member of the pep club, and each senior member of the squad responded. The annual football assembly was held Wednesday morning at which the winners of Mr. Touch-day Touch-day and Football Queen honors were announced. At the dance Wednesday evening they were crowned and ruled over the festivities. fes-tivities. President of the pep club is Elayne Green, and Diane Cooley acted as chairman of the assembly assem-bly committee, and Jackie Win-tcrrose Win-tcrrose as chairman of the dance committee. ' |
