Show Stake MIR Drama Offering Delights Large Crowd An 18 player cast with a superb living room scene back drop and a practically capacity house at the Public School Auditorium combined in developing one of the most outstanding local talent stage presentations in Cedar City in a number of years. Under the auspices of the Cedar Ce-dar Stake MIA and the able directorship di-rectorship of Mrs. Dixie Leavitt and assistant director Miss Bea Roberts, the comedy in three acts "You Can't Take It With You," literally kept the nearly 900 people, peo-ple, at the opening performance Monday evening, in "stitches." Each of the 18 characters, and each individual was truly a character, char-acter, played his or her part in an outstanding manner. Rodney Turner as Martin Vanderholf, elderly grandfather in the play, gave an exceptionally fine performance per-formance as did Claude Halsell as Kolenkhov the Russian; Eugene Eu-gene Helland as Tony Kirby, Lu-Ree Lu-Ree Condie as Alice and Mrs. Claude Halsell as Mrs. Sycamore. All in all the performance was an outstanding success. Proceeds obtained by the two-night two-night production of the play will be turned over to the Cedar Stake Building Fund. Because of illness of one of the ' cast Tuesday evening's perform-1 ances have been postponed and patrons will be able to see the production Monday and Tuesday, , No. 29 and 30. |
