Show BERYL NEWS NOTES The annual school anil P-TA Christmas party and program at Beryl was held Thursday evening.. eve-ning.. Dec. 20, at the Kscalante school. A good crowd attetuled. Mrs. Georgia Movie and La-V'and La-V'and Bauer directed the program, while Mrs. John McGarry fur-nh'hcd fur-nh'hcd the music. A skit, "We Throe Kings of Orient Are," was directed by Mrs. McGarry. Participating wore Nora Hacking, Mary Ann Hunt, Rose Ann Movie and Bobbie Walters as the kings, and Carl Holland and Lucille Hunt as Joseph and Mary. Santa Claus' entrance was preceded pre-ceded by a series of musical numbers and readings. The small boys sang "Santa's Sleigh," while the little girls presented a candle ceremony. Conbined, the small children gave two "rhythm band" numbers, The older children's chil-dren's harmonica band gave two numbers. Thomas Moore's "The Night Before Christmas" was given gi-ven an interpretation by Homer Pittard. Finally all the children joined to sing Christmas carols. When "Here Comes Santa Claus" was taken up, St. Nicholas Nich-olas came in with bags of candy can-dy and nuts for the children. The P-TA program committee served home-made candy to the grown-ups. Oranges and apples were passed out. Everyone went home happy and feeling the wonderful spirit of Christmas. |
