Show Indian Families Attend LDS Christmas Fete Sixty-seven persons attended the Cedar LDS stake Indian family party held Friday, Dec. 21, in the stake welfare building. The group included most members mem-bers of Indian families living in the Cedar City area. Following a program of readings, read-ings, story telling, dancing and singing, refreshments were served and each family received a box of groceries. The party was arranged by the Cedar Stake Indian In-dian committee, headed by Mrs. N. Grandon Porter. The program included vocal solos by Guy Wall, who accompanied accom-panied himself on the guitar; a group of Christmas songs sung by children of the first, second and third grades; two Indian dances by Arthur Richards, accompanied ac-companied by Etlriek Bushhead on drums; a Christmas story by Mrs. Porter entitled "The Small One", and a story in Piute by Chief Woots Parashonts. Mrs. Porter accompanied the children on the organ. The group, led by Laurel Esp-lin, Esp-lin, concluded the program in singing Christmas carols. H. A. Terry recorded the program on a wire recorder and played the results re-sults back to the group. |
