Show I Captain Raymond Maloney Gets Transfer I To Special Weapons Group at Albuquerque RAYMOND A. MALONEY 00 Announcement was made today to-day by Lt. Col. Oliver W. Harris of the i-e-assignment of Capt. Raymond A. Maloney, assistant professor of air science and tactics tac-tics at the College of Southern Utah In Cedar City. Captain Maloney, said Col. Harris, is being re-assigned to the Air Research development Command, Special Weapons Group, at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N. M., and is scheduled to depart from Cedar City on or about Aug. 1. Captain Maloney was selected for this assignment because of his possession of a research and development career occupational speccialty, which presently falls within the list of critical specialties spe-cialties within the air, force, making his re-assignment mandatory. man-datory. Captain Maloney, a native of Virgin, Utah, and a graduate of Utah State Agricultural college at Logan, was assigned to the College of Southern Utah (then Branch Agricultural college) in the summer of 1951 and has since that time been cited by the college authorities on several sever-al occasions for his outstanding teaching ability. He has, since he arrived here, taught world political geography to the Incoming Incom-ing freshmen and then throughout through-out the freshman year. Present plans call for Captain Maloney, his wife Iva, and son Brent, after the sale of their home at 60 South 900 West, to depart for Albuquerque where he is to report for duty approximately approx-imately Aug. 21. Tentatively scheduled to re place Captain Maloney at the local institution is Chief Warrant War-rant Officer Raymond A. Stevens, presently assigned with the parent par-ent detachment of the AFROTC at Utah State Agricultural college. col-lege. Chief Warrant Officers Stevens Is married, with three children, and requests the aid of local citizens in securing a residence for him and his family. |
