Show Cedar City Scouts Enjoy Jamboree-bound Trip Hitting all the high spots from Reno to Los Angeles, including San Francisco, 18 boy scouts and leader Ray Knell with some 500 other scouts from the Utah Parks district should land at the Irvine Ranch, Calif, this evening to attend at-tend the national Boy Scout Jamboree. Jam-boree. Leaving Cedar City at 5 p. m. Saturday, July 11, the scouts traveled tra-veled by private car to Trovo whore they transferee! to bus with approximately 500 to GOO other scouts of the district. Leaving Provo that day the scouts traveled half-way through the nignt, arriving at Reno, Nev at 1 a. m. Sunday. Hero the boys caught a quick "shut-eye" en the Reno park before holding religious re-ligious service Sunday morning. Leaving Reno in the early af-tern af-tern joii the group traveled to Fairfield. Calif, where they were given a two-hour lay-over before continuing to San Francisco. Monday, July 13, the boys made a complete tour of the famous city before going on their way to the jamboree site. Mr. Kneli reported the events to this point by telephone to Mrs. Knell here at Cedar City. He also reporated that the Cedar City group had been an inspiration to work with and that ihe kids had thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Yesterday, Wednesday, the grocp was to arrive in Los Angeles An-geles where it L reported that a group of movie stars including Roy Rogers and Dorothy Lamour wa; to greet 1 he Utah delegation. Today, t lie first day of ihe National Jamboiee, the L.s will arrhe at Irvine Ranch rnd complete com-plete registration. The jamboree will last f ir a neck after which the scouts will return by the southern route to Cedar City and home. It is expected that they will arrive on Saturday, July 25 or Sunday, July 2G.
