Show Milt's, Biederman's Square Off Tonight TEAM STANDINGS , Milt's Lounge 3 1 .750 j Biederman's 3 1 .750 Ray's Cafe 1 3 .250 j Thornton's 1 3 .250 Two completely one-sided games in the Women's Softball league in Cedar City, won by Milt's Circus Lounge and Eicdcr-man Eicdcr-man Hereford Ranch, strengthened strengthen-ed the lead of these two teams in the race for first place, giving giv-ing them both a standing of three wins and one loss. A league leader will be determined deter-mined this evening, Thursday, however when Milt's and Biederman's Bieder-man's take the field to settle the standings. Milt's Circus Lounge last week showed its strength in completely complete-ly dominationg a one sided game that saw the lounge team score 35 runs in five innings while Thornton Drug was doing all it could to muster eight runs, allowing a winning "edge" of 27 runs for Milt's. Biederman's, also contending for league honors were not to be completely outclassed as they racked up a 25 to 3 victory over Ray's Cafe. Milt's and Biederman's, the two r.tr ng teams of last year's league, have again taken over I the domination of the Women's League in Cedar with two exceptionally excep-tionally strong teams. The battle of the year for local fans will be this evening-when they meet on the local diamond. Aside from the league race the four Cedar City teams are working work-ing toward the Southern Utah Women's Softball tournament to jbe held in Cedar City next week end. Here the Cedar group will meet with ether teams of the area in a tourney that has grown in popularity in the past two years. |
