Show Armed Forces Call Four in August Draft Quota Four more Iron County men will report for induction into military service under Selective Service on Aug. 12, in response to a call tor selectees during next month. In addition six men must report for pre-induct ion physical examinations. While the men to fill the August Aug-ust quota have not been definitely defin-itely selected, it is reasonably certain who will get calls,' according ac-cording to E. By Dalley, clerk of the Iron County board. Bevan Higbee of Cedar City w ho dropped out of ROTC at College Col-lege of Southern Utah and volunteered volun-teered to report for his physical examination last week, qualified for service and will be one of the men to report on Aug. 12. Blaine Tueller, former Cedar City resident who now resides in Logan, may be one of the men to report. Tueller was one of the men orrlered to report for physical physi-cal examination in July. However, How-ever, he transferred to the Logan l oan! and will take his examination examin-ation today. If he qualifies he will be one of the men to report next month. Tueller recently returned re-turned from an L D S mission to the Netherlands. If Tueller qualifies the other two men to report will probably be Boyd Sherratt of Cedar City, and Garth Gilger of Parowan. If Tueller does not qualify LaVar Wado tf Cedar City will probably probab-ly get his call to report in August. Aug-ust. Rulon M. Lyman of Parowan, who expected to report this month after having finished his year in school, but who was replaced re-placed by Garth Whitney, also of Parowan, who had dropped out of ROTC, will undoubtedly miss the August call also, because the above mentioned men are all older than he is. Higbee has been in ROTC, Tueller on a mission, and the other three were previously pre-viously given agiicultural deferments. de-ferments. Men who will report for pre-induction pre-induction physical examinations are James Lawrence Barlow, Barlow Bar-low N. White, Kim Blackett and Clark Ilirschi, Cedar City; Henry B. Isom, Kanarraville, and James Taylor Harris, Parowan. |
