Show Alfalfa-eating Rabbits Slated For Extermination Upon the recommendation of farmers of Iron County the extension ex-tension service, under the direction direc-tion of Morris Taylor, in the absence ab-sence of Stephen L. Brower, has undertaken a rabbit control program. pro-gram. In an effort to abate the rabbit menace within the county two days each week have been designated desig-nated by the extension service to meet the needs of the west and eastern sections of the county. Saturday at 1 p. m. at the Bureau Bu-reau of Land Management sheds bait will be mixed for eastern Iron county, and Monday at 1 p. m. at the Beryl Junction bait will be mixed for the Escalante Valley area. Farmers who plan to participate partici-pate in the rabbit eradication program are asked to bring approximately ap-proximately 100 green alfalfa tips to be mixed with strychnine poison as a rabbit bait Wallace Adams will be on hand at both locations to mix the bait and to assist the farmers in the program. Mr. Taylor urges all farmers to participate in the program so that the rabbit menace men-ace can be curbed. It is understood under-stood that a good share of alfalfa al-falfa in the county has been destroyed de-stroyed by rabbits. |
