Show East Elementary Displays Prominent Art Works I Thirty-two contemporary paintings paint-ings and 1G American contemporary contem-porary sculpturos are presently on exhibit at the Cedar City East Elementary School building, it i was announced by Thomas Ab-! Ab-! planalp, principal. Paintings by some of America's Amer-ica's outstanding artists are on i display, he stated, through the cooperation of the department of fine arts, International Business j Machines Corporation. The exhibit was brought into the school for the purpose of instilling in-stilling art appreciation into the boys and girls. However, Mr. Ab-planalp Ab-planalp stated that the display is open to the public. The paintings paint-ings will hang in the hallway of the East Elementary until Jan. 30, 1954 and the sculptures will be on display in the library. The public is welcome to view the display, however until 3:30 each evening. Appointments to istt the library must be arranged. arrang-ed. The Fine Arts Guild of Cedar City has taken advantage of the East Elementary's display and ha-, scheduled a public showing on Sunday, Jan. 10. Time for the showing will be announced by the guild at a later date, it Is understood. j Several painters, such as Grant Wood, Stuart Davis, Nan Sheets, and Fletcher Martin have paintings paint-ings hanging in the exceptionally exceptional-ly fine exhibit. !
