Show BERYL and WELLS Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Qulnn have gone to California for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gibson have returned to their home here after spending several months in California. On February 9, Frank G. Shelley, Shel-ley, executive secretary of the Utah State Farm Bureau, and Mrs. J. H. Bromley, representing the State Farm Bureau auxiliary held a meeting at the Wells school house to organize a Farm Bureau unit here. Officers elected were Joseph Hatch, president; Sterling Tullis, first vice president; Bruni Blast, second vice president, and Lane Austin, secretary. The first meet-ing meet-ing of the new officers was held on February 14. The H. L. Bennetts have returned re-turned home from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Joseph Hatch was surprised sur-prised on her birthday with a visit from her sister and two brothers bro-thers from Idaho. The annual meeting and pot-luck pot-luck dinner of the Farm Home Administration for veterans of the valley was held February 9. Daniel Tanllllan, Farm Security Administration engineer, gave a very interesting talk on water rights of the valley. Talks were also given by Joseph Atkins and J. T. Allred of the Farm Security Se-curity administration. The Ladles club of the Desert held its monthly meeting on Feb. 16 at the Wells school house, Hostesses were Mrs. Elisa Bias! and Mrs. Bee Miller. The Escalante Growers Association Asso-ciation held a meeting Friday night. Feb. 17, at the Wells school house. Mrs. Iola Thompson and Mrs. Mary Ann Austlne from South Gate, Calif., spent a few days last week visiting here with the Elwood Thompsons. Mrs. Jack Moyle entertained a number of friends in honor of her husband on his birthday, February 11. The Ladies club gave a miscellaneous miscel-laneous shower for Mrs. Gordon Moyle on February 13. The affair af-fair was held in the Wells school house. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones, and Mr. and Mrs. Lane Austin attended at-tended the annual livestock association as-sociation celebration and ban-quet ban-quet at Cedar City on Feb. 13. |
