K 'iF Enterprise A new addition has recently been made to the many generations of Enterprise post offices. It is a comparatively comparative-ly modern structure of 20 by 32 and is now In active use. It replaces re-places an old building of 12 by (18 which had been in use since .1930. The construction job on this new Duumng was contract, ed by the postmaster, Ivor Clove and was completed at a cost of $2,500. Mr. Clove has been the postmaster post-master for nearly 30 years and this Is the fourth building in which he has bern Uncle Sam's postal representative. The first post office in Enterprise Enter-prise was built in 1899 and since then the Job has been in the inn j hands of four different postmast-ers, postmast-ers, in six different buildings, at eight different locations. The same Enterprise post-office sign that is now used on the new building has followed the present postmaster from post office to post office as he handed out rrtail through all of his years of service. ser-vice. At the present time the lumber in the old building is being salvaged sal-vaged and soon the old post office of-fice will be, like all of the other buildings only a memory to the : people of Enterprise. |
