Show Hereford Sale Scores Big Success in Cedar Cedar City was virtually assured as-sured of being the site for fu- j ture Hereford sales, following the "very successful" fourth annual Utah Hereford Sale sponsored by i the Utah Hereford Association in: Cedar Tuesday afternoon. Buying was brisk at the sale, as 30 top range Hereford bulls went thhroufh the auction ring in two hours, bringing an aver-1 age price of $515 per head. This was over 10 per cent above last year's average. The grand champion bull was consigned by Gardell Snow, Fer- j ron, and sold to the Spilsbury Land Livestock Company of Ce-1 dar City for $840. The reserve; champion, bringing $770 in the auction ring, was consigned by Vearl Peterson, Gunnison, and sold to Valley Farms of Payson. All entries in the sale were judged in the morning with only bulls graded "B" or better being offered for sale. Judging was conducted con-ducted by Marden Broadbent and George Henderson, Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural college extension service, ser-vice, while Col. H. B. Sager was the auctioneer in the afternoon. In the evening, local committee members and officials of the Hereford association were honor-ed honor-ed at a banquet in El Escalante hotel by the officers and directors of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce.
