Show NEWS FROM SOUTHERN UTAH COMMUNITIES RICHFIELD 'S St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church was bhe scene of funeral service conducted last week for Jack Gucnther, managing editor edit-or of Look Magazine, who died in the United Air Lines disaster at Bryce Canyon. The services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Valine, with relatives coming from Los Angeles An-geles and New York City for the services. r s!f BEAVER Parent-Teacher Association Assoc-iation members enjoyed an address by Dr. H. Wayne Driggs, Branch Agricultural college director, at the first meeting of the 6eason for the association. Dr. Driggs addressed the group on the subject of "Evidences of an Education." Five "evidences'' were listed by Dr. Driggs: correctness correct-ness and precision in the use of the mother tongue; refined and gentle manners; habits of reflection; power pow-er to grow, and power to do. The PAROWAN City Council has approved the employment of a consultant con-sultant engineer to plan for improvements im-provements in the city-owned hydro-electric power plant. Thomas C. Adams of Salt Lake City has been appointed and will begin work Immediately. Im-mediately. t'AROWAN has ordered a new road patrol to be used on the city streets. In a step taken by the city council to improve the streets of the county seat. The council also decided to continue with the installation in-stallation of curb and gutter on Main street. ............. sKsmasa MILFORD is to have a new business bus-iness building to be constructed by the Trl-State Lumber Company. The building to be located on the block opposite the post office, will cost an estimated $35,000. |
