Show Phillips Joins In Atomic Studies K. S. Adams chairman, and Paul Endacott, president, Phillips Petroleum Company, have confirmed the announcement by the Atomic Energy Commission that Phillips is a member of the Itocky Mountain Nuclear Power Study Group, recently authorized by the Commission. Consisting of nine companies, the group has been formed to investigate the technical and economic feasibility of a multiple purpose nuclear reactor for the production of electrical power, fissionable materials and radioisotopes. "Continued developments from exploration of the atom may well have important applications to our petroleum and chemical activities as well as in other fields of energy," Adams and Endacott stated, pointing out that the company does not regard atomic energy as competitive with the petroleum industry but instead consider the two fields as being complementary. |
