Show Nice When It's Mild, But Watch That Storm! Texans and Easterners moving Into the rich uranium region along the Colorado-Utah border are mighty pleased with the mild climate. It's the first time many of them have done year around drilling. But The sudden storms peculiar to the area have them Just a lltlia nervous. Recently an Icy wind blew down Muddy River canon near Green River, picked up a 30 x 30 foot frame cookhouse and smashed it against a cliff 400 feet away. Several huge drill rigs were pushed over as it they were toys. Luckily, no one was Injured. Jim Gilkinson, a geological engineer originally from Connecticut who works for the company that lost the cookhouse, remarked: "Where I come from we Just figure on bad weather coming along normal like. Here, it sneaks up on a guy before he knows what U happening!" |
