Show Radioactive Roaches Come Under Study, Too Now it's radioactive cockroaches! A group of U. S. public health experts trapped sewer roaches in Phoenix, Ariz., and exposed them to radioactivity. Then they turned them loose in a spot from where they migrated into a house through water traps In the plumbing. The roaches didn't know it but a geiger counter followed them along their route, so that a study of their migratory habits could be made. The researchers found that cockroaches will travel as much as 200 feet when they become overcrowded or when forced out of colonics by backed-up sewage. |
