Show 8D The Salt Lake Tribune Over 1 15, Sunday, July 1 Mil Tribs Tennis players of all ages will be heading for the courts Tuesday as the 1984 edition of The Salt Lake Tribune's No Champs Tennis Tournament opens at sites throughout the county. More than 1,600 players have mation. Because of the large number of players involved, it will not be possible for No Champs officials to provide opponent information by phone. A match that has been changed must not be played on a scheduled No Champs court, and it must be played before the next scheduled round. No Champs officials will attempt to have representatives on most of the courts most of the time. In the event no representative is available, players should take it upon themselves to locate their opponents. Immediately after the match, winners must report their scores, either to the No Champs representative or to No Champs headquarters. The number g of the telephone will be published in The Tribune sports section beginning Tuesday. Besides Liberty Park, No Champs matches will be played at Granite High, 3305 Skyline High, 3251 E. 3760 South; Olympus High, 4055 S. 2300 East, Taylorsville High, 5225 S. Redwood Rd., East High, 840 S. 13th East; Highland High, 2166 S. 1700 East, and South High, 1575 S. State. Other match sites will be the Uni2 (northversity of Utah courts west of the residence halls); Glendale Park, 1200 W. 1700 South; 11th Avenue Courts, 11th Avenue and P Street, the Senior Citizens Center between 2nd and 3rd South on 10th East; Fairmont Park, 2245 McClelland (1040 E. 1st South); Reservoir Park, 13th East and 1st South; Rosewood Park, 1350 N. 1200 West;l Research Park, 2250 E. 5th South, and Salt Lake Countys Olympus Hills Tennis Courts between 4300 and 4500 South just west of Wasatch Boulevard. The Salt Lake County Recreation Department, the Salt Lake City Parks Department, the University of Utah and Granite and Salt Lake City schools districts annually assist No Champs by making courts available. en- tered the fray for a shot at becoming a champ of No Champs, meaning that literally hundreds of matches will be scheduled and played before the tournament runs its course. The finals, followed by a trophy presentation, will be July 28 at Liberty Park, which will be tournament headquarters throughout the meet. Players are urged to check closely the first-da- y pairing which will appear in Mondays Tribune sports section. The schedule for Wednesday's opening doubles will appear in Wednesdays sports section. However, to be sure, players should check the draw sheets and schedules that will be posted at tournament headquarters in Liberty Park. All No Champs information will be maintained at Liberty Park, and no information will be maintained in The Tribune sports department or library. Should a player need to change the time of a match, he or she must obtain permission from their opponent. The names and phone numbers of all entries will be on file at tournament headquarters.
