Show Contributions from Park City kids The Park Record 0 Section A Thursday, September 15, 1994 U Page A12 Here are the first compositions of the new school term. They were written by Bitsy Beall's seventh graders, and are "Obituaries of Summer." BETTY BOAT by Shana McQueen Betty Boat, bom on the first day of summer, June 21, 1974, died Feb. 26, 1994. She lived 20 long, happy years at a beautiful lake in Northern Utah. She was beloved by children as well as adults and carried them around the gorgeous lake where she was born and died. Sometimes she spent lovely hours with a satisfied fisherman aboard. On Aug. 29, 1993, Betty Boat waited for the children to come as usual. She waited day after day and had no idea that her dock had closed for the winter. Betty Boat felt weaker everyday and the rope that held her to the dock also became weak. During a storm on Feb. 25, 1994, the rope was broken and Betty Boat was carried to the other side of the lake, where she was washed up on the shore. After the storm, she realized she couldn't float any longer. On the morning of Feb. 26, 1994, covered with sad teardrops, Betty Boat had finally found her resting place on the shore of the lake that she loved. In her day she provided relaxation, enjoyment and happy times for hundreds of people. The children who loved Betty Boat came back in the summer of 1994, where they found her broken remains. They were all sad and disappointed at her passing, but were glad she remained at the spectacular lake! HENRY HOUSEBOAT by Krissy Ames Henry Houseboat, age eight, died Aug. 6. Apparently a cruise ship hit him and he drowned. He has three survivors wife Finny Fishboat, daughter Melanie Motorboat, and son Wyat Whalingboat. Henry Houseboat was born in Bubble Bud's Boat Factory. He moved to Lake Cumberland, Ky. when he was one month old and stayed there until he died. Henry was one of the best houseboats that ever lived. He was great for tanning, cruising, vacationing and enjoyment. He was known for carrying the most famous boat manufacturer, Speedy A. Sailman. Henry took him out every year so he could see all of his boats in comfort. Henry will be buried on the shore of Lake Chamberland by the old Wave B. Runner mansion. The family of Henry Houseboat would welcome your attendance at the funeral on Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. In tribute, Henry's name will be added to the Dictionary of Maritime Crafts. GEORGE GOGGLES by Jamie Harman George Goggles died yesterday, August 28, 1994. He was born June 11, 1994 at the Hine Factory Hospital in Riverton, Utah. He was two months, 17 days old when he died, which is quite old for the Goggles family. George lived in Steiner, Utah for most of his life. George had no family or relatives left, just friends. George accomplished many great things in his life. George was a great swimmer. He won two races that included the cities of Steiner and Cottonwood Heights. George also invented a new way of seeing underwater that helped a lot of people. George Goggles died from drowning at swim practice. His memorial service will take place in his home town of Riverton by Sally Swimcap. George Goggles will be missed very much. BARRY BATHINGSUIT by Kami Wilson Barry Bathingsuit died this summer. He drowned in the warm Caribbean water. His sister and brother, Billy and Betty Bathingsuit as well as his parents Barney and Baby Bop Bathingsuit were saved by the Suit Patrol. Barry was born on the island of Bikini. He grew up in Trunks, Iowa, and died in the Bahamas. Barry Bathingsuit was always a first class swimmer. He was never . thirsty either. Barry Bathingsuit went to college and made a career being a sunscreen seller. It was a successful, but greasy business. He lived a full life. The service will be on Monday the 1 1th. Barry Bathingsuit will be missed. BOB'S BIKE by Luis Mingura It was 1930 and a man named Bob invented the bike. He was 28 years old. At that age he also invented bungee jumping. Later on in his life he went to Brigham Old University. Hours later he made lots of bikes for his friends and told them to come biking with him. When they came over, there were billions of them. Right when they got there, they went biking up to the mountains. When they got deeper in the forest a big black bear attacked Bob and his friends. The survivors his friends biked as fast as they could to the nearest ranger station. The rangers tracked down the big black bear and killed hi'm. The rangers said that the bear was very vicious! Bob was bom on Sept. 2, 1902 and died on Feb. 16, 1930. The bear probably was thinking that Bob was junk. SUMMER OBITUARY bylanShorr Summer itself died today, Aug. 29, 1994. Summer was roughly three months old but only if measured in months instead of actual human time. It died from a sudden shortage of social life. Summer's survivors include its reportedly wicked stepbrother, School Year, and its sister Winter Break. Its distant cousin, Spring Break, is coming by air for the service. Summer was bom on June 10, 1994. It lived quite an eventful life in Park City, giving the local youngsters a terrific time, responsibility-free. Summer will be much missed. TONY VISION by Shannon Frohmader Mr. Tony Vision was born on Jan. 2, 1987 and died on Aug. 27, 1993. He was the young age of five when he died. Two days before he died Tony was not feeling so well. So in the morning we took him to the body shop for his yearly checkup. check-up. He was in such bad shape, finally we just had to pull the plug. The survivors in the family were not located except for his sister. Her name was Vickie Catheren Roberts (VCR). It seemed that nobody could survive the first few weeks without Tony, for every day he was known for his outstanding performance. He was brought to life in Japan at the time of summer. Summer was his favorite season. Then he was brought over to the U.S. That . was where he was raised. He died peacefully in a body shop. We all miss Tony. He achieved all the things that he wanted totefore he died, like to perform more and longer. He also bought from his closest friend Cable. We all are truly going to miss Tony Vision. PETER PINE TREE by Danny Ivory Peter Pine Tree was struck by lightning last week. There was a big thunderstorm last Thursday night. A huge bolt of lightning came out of (he sky and struck the trunk of Peter Pine Tree killing him instantly. As a boy I would watch as Petei Pine Tree spread his arms for the pine hens seeking shelter. I'll miss those days when I sat beneath him as he shaded me from the sun. Although Peter Pine Tree lived to be 60 years old, most pine trees live to be over 100 years old. Petei Pine tree was survived by several young seedlings which I hope will be as wonderful as their father. imp m nn Mb -- vf "if ' 3 2475 Sonny Knoll Court Spectacular Park a Meadows Home Now $1JSO,WO f Centtct.
