Show Luris Porter Allen BOUNTIFUL Luris Porter Allen, 86, passed away March 23, 1992. Born April 8, 1905 in Kingston. Utah to M. Devalson and Laura Porter Allen. Married Dena Winkel Oct. 4, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Tem-ple. Graduate of Snow College (student body president), and USAC with post graduate credits from Texas A&M andBYU. A lifelong employee LDS Church having served as a seminary teacher and principal for 35 years. Devoted missionary, having served with his wife on missions to East Texas, Southwest Indian, Atlanta, Ga. and Billings, Mont. Dedicated scout leader and recipient of Silver Beaver award. Served as bishop of Provo I7th Ward, counselor in Gunnison Stake presidency and Salt Lake Temple worker. Survived by wife, Dena and eight children; LeGrande, Bountiful; Carol Gene Carson, Shirley Beeton and David Lynn, all of Centerville; Dianne deJel, Pleasant Grove; Elaine Beeton, Layton; Wayne Luris, Fruit Heights; and Antonia Wilder, Fremont, CA.; brothers, Carling, Provo; Marion, LaVerkin; Merrill, Kingston; sisters, Alporta Campbell, Provo; Led a Young, Kanesville; 49 grandchildren and 105 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sat-urday, March 28 at ll a.m. at the Bountiful 27th Ward, H35 N. 200 E. Friends may call Friday 6:30-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, and Saturday Satur-day at the church, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment Centerville City Cemetery. |
