Show McKay named carrier of the month f r I - N L m - F I By JANIS STUART Staff Writer BOUNTIFUL The Davis County area has seen some cold winters, hot summers and terrific wind and rain storms over the past two years. In spite of them, Michael McKay has dutifully traveled his Clipper paper route. His hard work and reliability have made him the Clipper Carrier of the Month for March. Unquestionably, McKay's bubbly enthusiasm is one of the factors fac-tors that make him such a reliable carrier and dependable worker. Of course, Michael is quick to point out that his brother Chris has helped him a lot. In fact, he wanted to be sure folks understood how much help his parents, Elaine and Reed, were. "They drive me all the time," he explained. McKay is a student at Meadowbrook Elementary in Bountiful. Boun-tiful. He was unable to pick his favorite class at school, because, "it's elementary and we really only have one class." One of the benefits of being a carrier is that he earns some spending spen-ding money. "I usually spend my money on sports," said the baseball and basketball fan. McKay plays in school games and recreational sports. "I like to play first base and pitcher." "I've been to three Utah Jazz games this year at the Delta Center," he stated, explaining that the Jazz is his favorite basketball team. Michael has attended the games with his dad and grandfather. He also has an older sister, Kelly. He said. "It is a really fun family." The Clipper would like to congratulate con-gratulate Michael McKay for his fine performance, on and off the job.
