Show Travelers can help schools buying tickets FARMINGTON Davis School District Foundation announces that travelers may help schools in the Davis County School District by scheduling their airline tickets, cruises and vacation packages through Beehive Business and Leisure Travel. According to Jo Rose, president of Beehive, the company has decided to become a partner in supporting education. ''We're concerned that our students be prepared to succeed in this complex world, and we want to do our part in improving learning in this competitive environment that has emerged." This is the way it will work. A traveler who works with a travel agent will indicate the school to receive the proceeds from the booking. Beehive will keep records of billings bill-ings and donate a portion to Davis County Schools. A 1.5 percent donation will be made for the first $100,000. When that goal has been met, the donation will increase to two percent per-cent (and retroactive for the first $100,000). At the two percent rate, $50,000 in travel bookings would result in a donation to schools of $1,000 and an airline ticket of $500 would bring a $10 donation. Each month a check will go the district for distribution to designated schools. Each principal will have discretion for expenditure of funds. Beehive's current corporate contract con-tract clients are not eligible. Travel included in the program includes air tickets on any commercial airline, Morris Air Service air tickets and vacations, tours, cruises, and any other vacation packages. |
