Show Hatch honored for essay by DAR Michelle Hatch, an eighth grade student at Mueller Park Junior High, was recently honored by the Daughters of American Revolution. Her essay, entitled "Abigail Adams.. .Give a Thought to Women' was selected by the Golden Spike Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution as the winning entry in a contest ; J ! i . IBM ' l i r a r ii , .4 sponsored by the organization. Michelle's entry was selected to represent the state in the national essay contest by the DAR. At the state convention of the Utah State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, she was honored and received a book on the life of Thomas Jefferson, a certificate of achievement and a medal. Other Mueller Park students received recognition for their efforts in the contest. Marianne Jeppson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jeppson, received a third place award from the Golden Spike Chapter and J.D. Lyon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lyon, received an honorable mention.
