Show Funeral services at Provo for Fred A. Brown Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday at Provo, for Fred A. Brown, 60, a former for-mer reseident of Springville, who died Sunday, August 20, 1967, at Utah Valley Hospital of an extended illness. Bishop Elbert Miller of the Fourth ward officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Springville March 25, 1907, a son of Edward W. and Nettie Barlow Brown. He spent his early life here and graduated from Springville high school. He was a fireman at Utah State Hospital, 28 years and for the last 13 of the time, was chief engineer. He reteired from the hospital in 1953 and worked later in construction trades at Geneva Steel, Consolidated and for American Am-erican Bridge. He was a member mem-ber of the United Association of Journeyman Pipefitters. He retired re-tired last November because of ill health. He was secretary of the High Priests Quorum in the Provo Fourth Ward, and had been a home teacher several years. He married Louise Sumsion of Springville, Jan. 2, 1926 and the marriage was later solom-nized solom-nized in the Manti Temple. Surviving besides his wife, are a daughter and a son, Mrs. Mark (Annette) Graham of Austin, Texas and Gary F. Brown of Douglas, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, William H. Brown, Frank and Bert Brown, Springville; Spring-ville; Mark A. Brown, Provo; Mrs. Nettie Hoyle, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Wandle (Bessie) (Bes-sie) Openshaw of Price. |
