Show . - . ' , a . --: . ... v .... .... r ..? Vol ( V Two cowboys close in on a runaway steer during team-roping competition at the Southern Utah State College rodeo last weekend. The rodeo was won. in the men's division, by College of Southern Idaho. Weber State was victorious in the women's category. SUaL conducts rodeo; cowboys compete for honors barrell racing, goat tying, team roping and break-away calf roping. Participants were involved in elimination rounds during Friday and Saturday afternoon. Finals w were conducted Saturday night, featuring the top ten qualifiers in each event. In addition to the regular intercollegiate events, Southern Utah State students participated par-ticipated in a wild steer race. The event was loads of fun for participants and spectators and was won by the NADS. CEDAR CITY - Over 100 cowboys converged on Cedar City last weekend to compete in the Southern Utah State College Rodeo, and when the bucking was over, College of Southern Idaho walked off with top men's honors, and Weber State won among the women. There were three sessions of the rodeo, occurring Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. Other schools competing included in-cluded SUSC, Utah Tech-Provo, Tech-Provo, Utah Tech-Salt Lake City, Utah State, Boise State University and Idaho State University. Male cowpokes competed com-peted in bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, calf roping and bulldogging. Ladies were involved in |
