Show SUtohostRMAC women's track meet 1500 meters. They have good sprinters and good people in the field events. They are simply strong and deep in all events." After Adams State, the other four schools SUSC, Southern Colorado, Western New Mexico, and Colorado Mines are expected to scramble for second place. Western NM may have a slight advantage, according to Davidson. The T-Bird women could easily pick up a couple of first places. Mechele Hebberd won the conference title in the high jump last year with a 5-4 leap. She has cleared 5-6 this year. Lisa Bouwhuis is the defending defen-ding 'javelin champion. The T-Birds are looking for points from Cheryl Lamb in the 400 hurdles, Janet Jorgensen in the 100 hurdles, the 1600 meter relay team and the 400 meter relay team. With good efforts, Davidson thinks that the lady 'Birds could get points from Kelly Walker in the 200 and 400, Anita Green, in the 800 and Linda Ekstrom in the 5000. Last week in a five-team five-team unscored meet at University of California-Irvine, California-Irvine, SUSC broke four school records and had a relatively good tuneup for the conference meet. Bouwhuis threw the javelin 130-8 and the discus 105-9 for two new school records.
